By now, it seems that everyone has heard of Dr. Brene Brown, author of The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly. If you are on a personal quest of self discovery, I highly recommend both of these books. Folks might ask, “How is imperfection a gift?” Knowing and accepting that you do not have to be perfect is the gift. In my Life Coaching practice, I encounter the struggle that folks have with perfection and worthiness. “I’m not good enough.” “I’m not smart enough.” “I’m not thin enough.” “I’m not …enough.” What is enough? When is it enough? Ask yourself, “What is my pain point?” What does it take to begin the journey of change and take the steps necessary to alter your life? Begin by embracing all of you. Stand in front of the mirror, look yourself in the eye and repeat after me- “My needs are just as important as your needs.” “I am worthy.” “I am deserving of love.” “I love me.” Do this for 30 days. You will be amazed at the difference it will make in your life.
