A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of spending a week at my favorite resort in Mazatlan, Mexico called Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. It truely feels like paradise. As I sat one early morning out by the pool, I began to read the book called Hoof It! 7 Key Lessons on Your Journey of Success by Dr. Richard Norris. The identified 7 key lessons are vision, passion, commitment, change and learn, decisive, action and fun. The story is told through the eyes of Vic, a wildebeest, and his journey to becoming himself as he travels the Serengeti in search of his mother. As I sat looking out at the ocean, the storyline matched up with exactly what I was experiencing. I was looking out at the horizon and began to think about what was on my horizon for 2011 as Vic looked out on the horizon contemplating his future. Some key questions came to mind for me about 2011 and I was able to write out six pages of thoughts for the coming year. Take some time before the new year to think about what is on your horizon. Remember that houghts become things and as you contemplate your next steps, write out your vision for 2011. Close your eyes and picture where you will be as your vision becomes reality. Here is to your best year yet.
